Victor Dubuisson shot a final round 66 on Sunday in the Turkish Airlines Open to finish on 22 under par which just pipped South African Jaco van Zyl who finished on 22 under. This is the second time Victor has won this event in Turkey over the last three years in which both wins have been his only two European tour titles. Mcilroy looked favourite to win on Sunday morning after carding three 67's in the first three rounds and didn't really look like he had got out of second gear. Rory struggled in the last round with 3 bogeys resulting in a 71. Rory has now dropped to 3rd in the world.

It's been a tough year for Dubuisson after having a good Ryder Cup last year he had fallen out of the top 50 world rankings before this win. You could see what it meant to the Frenchman after he holed his winning putt as he burst into tears and cried into his coach's arms for at least one minute.

Next week sees the European tour returning to Shanghai for the World Golf Championship. Anyone that can't sleep then watch out for the 10.45 tee time (2.45am our time!) on day 1, Rory, Dustin and Fowler, it should be a cracker.

NIKE COUNTER FLEX PUTTER

Nike have introduced there answer to the belly putter ban (Rule. Anchoring the Club. 14-1b). They have introduced an adjustable counter balance system allowing the golfer to move a 75 gram weight up and down the inside of the grip. JUNIOR FUNDRAISER / 3 CLUBS AND A PUTTER

Unfortunately the fog beat us last Sunday causing the comp to be cancelled. Thanks to everybody that turned up in hope and to the Juniors for doing the desk, putting and chipping challenges and selling raffle tickets. Anybody who had paid and requires a refund please see the Captain this weekend. We will continue to sell raffle tickets this Sunday and Monday at the Greenkeepers Texas Scramble with the draw made on Monday.

The new date for 3 Clubs and a Putter is now Saturday 27th February 2016.

WINTER LEAGUE

Winter league starts this weekend. Competitions committee have decided that all Winter League Stablefords will be Non Qualifiers. A full set of rules will be on the noticeboard and in the Starters Hut this Saturday.

Seniors vs Juniors

On Thursday we held the annual match vs the Senior section. This year I wanted the younger ones to gain some experience playing a matchplay format. 16 Juniors turned out with experienced juniors partnering the younger players. It was a close match with it coming down to the last game out on the course. 

Unfortunately the juniors lost 3 ½ - 4 ½ but the experience gained on the day was very valuable.

Seniors and ladies Mixed

The rearranged Charity Cup Ladies / Seniors competition was held on the 3rd November. Whilst Eileen Hackett and her playing partner Fred Ainsworth ( not Hackett) posted a competitive score of 38 points they were somewhat outdone by the eventual winners, Lesley Simmons and last minute replacement Richard Davis who amassed an impressive 40 points in quite challenging playing conditions. Well done to them.

The season finale for the mixed competitions is the 9 hole Christmas competition event with Christmas Lunch and presentations to be held on Tuesday 8th December; sheets are up on both boards and places are already filling up nicely.
