After our slight technical glitch last week I hope you all received the updated photos and could see the differences clearly. The mistake was an honest one and not just a way of seeing how many of you are reading and paying attention, however after the vast amount of emails and feedback from last week it was certainly a good way of knowing that you are all reading my weekly content. Many thanks to
Steve for putting up with all of the grief of being my photo guinea pig.
Online tee time bookings
We have now finished the trial of reverting back to the old online booking procedure and I’m sure many of you will be pleased to know that the system you are now used to is back up and running. You should now be able to choose a specific time slot. Please be aware that during busy periods if you see the error message ‘resource not available’ that is because someone else has just piped you to the post and you will have to select a new time. The company we use for the online bookings is under-going some changes and a new updated bookings page will be up and running over the coming weeks. Essentially the procedure itself will not change but you should experience a smoother booking process.
Tee Times – The first tee time is currently 8.00am but we will soon be going back to 7.30am starts during April and back by popular demand we will be opening the tee at 7.00am from May.
Billy Foster
The evening with Billy Foster and comedian Russ Williams is proving to be very popular and there have been over 100 tickets sold so far. If you were thinking of booking a table for this then please contact Clare asap to avoid disappointment. Click here to email Clare or click on the image for more information.
Tom on the course
The Masters is just around the corner and one of my favourite bits about the Masters is Ken on the course. It may be slightly cheesy but it has become Masters tradition and gives us a great insight into the course. Well this year Tom is doing his own version. Tom will be holding a FREE on course tips session on Saturday 12th April at 4pm. This will be a great opportunity for members to come along and ask questions about tricky on course positions and learn how to play those tricky shots from around the green, from the trees and out of those new deep pot bunkers. During the session you will be able to ask Tom any questions regarding any shots you'd like to be able to play or even test his knowledge of the rules. The session is limited to 10 members and will run approximately 1 hour. Click here to register your interest.
Seniors update
Congratulations are due to Frank Wood for an immensely creditable score of 43 points in the first of this years Leading Edge Trophy events held last Monday, winning both Division 2 and the overall competition.
Also to Mick Stamp (39 pts), the winner of Division 1, and showing an immediate return on his investment of unlimited winter lessons with Dave, although only winning on countback from perennial top performers Derek Whitehouse and Chris Bonehill.
This spell of good form for Frank Wood obviously continued into the final of the Seniors 9 hole Winter League Knock-out where Frank and partner Wayne Moore overcame Ilmar Luik and Ron Keber at the first extra hole.
Ladies win in Daily Mail Knockout
Congratulations to The Chase Ladies who won 3 1/2 Lake Side 1 1/2 last week. I believe this is the first time the Ladies section have entered this competition and it is great to see them getting off to a winning start. Well done to all the ladies that played;
