Greetings from Dave
TaylorMade Aero Burner Driver - £229.99
The TaylorMade Aeroburner driver sits alongside the TaylorMade R15 driver as a driver for golfers who
aren't too fussed about delving into the technical aspects of their clubs. Technology:
The new Speed Pockets flexes more at impact, resulting in a sweet spot that's bigger to help protect ball speeds on mishits and reduces spin for added forgiveness. The new Speed Pockets also features a red insert that keeps debris out, without affecting performance. An Aero hosel - small fins located at the rear of the hosel - also works alongside the raised centre crowns and rounded toe sections to lower drag and increase clubhead speed for longer distance. The 460cc driver features a matte-white finish, black PVD face, crown graphic that makes alignment easy, and a Matrix shaft and Lamkin UTx grip. The TaylorMade Aeroburner driver comes in 9.5?, 10.5?, 12? and HL (high loft) options, while the TP driver comes in 9.5? and 10.5? only.
Throughout JULY we are offering 15% discount off TaylorMade Aero Burner drivers. That would bring the driver down to £195! (£34 cheaper than direct golf). Free fitting included. This offer is only available for drivers in stock.

North Staffs Vets League:
The vets team travelled to Brookfield on Thursday 18th June to face their 'B' team, having a more knowledgeable feel for the course with the slowest greens imaginable. This proved to be of little advantage as they were comprehensible beaten 5 games to 1 (10 points to 2). With 4 league matches still to play and 3 of those at home, we are still in with a shout to finish in the top 2.

Mixed Competition
The latest mixed ladies and men's seniors charity competition was held on 16th June for the Jubilee Cup. In ideal playing conditions a number of good scores were returned with two teams tied at the top on 40 points. Runners up were Julie Wright and Fred Ainsworth but the winners on count back were Lily McLeod and Mike Potts. The next competition is on 14th July for the Remembrance Trophy.
Inter Club Competitions
The inter club team continue to produce erratic results with defeats to both The Castle GC on 23rd and Lichfield GC on 25th both played away and both by a score of 4 games to 3. However some good news has emerged in that:
The Seniors Captain appears to have found himself a batman to provide the inspiration needed to up his game and start winning
The Seniors vice Captain provided the shot of the season when he holed in one on a par 4 at Lichfield GC (an Albatross) The exact distance is somewhat uncertain with the hole registered as 320 yds. But showing on a watch GPS as 280 yds. Yardage was irrelevant, however, when it came to a celebratory drink and beware if you are at Lichfield GC, the price for a bottle of Whisky was quoted at £84!!!!!
External Competitions
Congratulations go to the "Sultans of Swing" a group of 4 Chase golfers comprising Wayne Moore, Keith Bayliss, Peter McDonald and a late reserve Margaret Burns who were triumphant in the afternoon session at this year's Brocton charity competition on 18th June. They emerged with a total of 79 points and as well as being the afternoon winners they were only narrowly beaten for the overall winners spot by the morning group winners.

This week saw the NIKE 10 Yard Challenge, the objective was to increase your current driving distance by 10 Yards with the use of the New Nike Vapor Range! This sounds like quite a challenge but the New Nike Range impressed me, only losing to one non-conforming driver. The biggest yardage gain was by Paul Crane who managed a massive 26 yards!! Well done Paul (according to his playing partners he would have benefited from the new driver the following day in the Simmons Trophy!!!)
Have a great weekend!
