Vets North staffs League:
The Vets team travelled to Alsager on Thursday, 28 May, a very testing course with the weather being predominantly showery. The team was also missing three front line players but fortunately their replacements proved more than adequate with the first three teams out recorded great wins, Alsager players showed their strength, however winning two of the remaining three matches but The Chase emerged victorious with a 4-2 win, 8 points to 4 result. This was Alsager's first home defeat since joining the Vets league making the result even more impressive. Worthy of note was the short game of one of our players who chipped in twice on consecutive holes to demoralise the opposition. Name held to avoid embarrassment.

Can Worn Grips Cause Bad SHOTS???
Yes
A Brand new grip won't be able to improve a swing fault or poor body alignment, but they do improve the only connection point you have with your clubs. A National Survey of golfers showed that 66% of those who had their clubs re-gripped showed an average drop of three to four shots per round!
This leads us to the question - When should I re-grip my clubs???
The answer is simple, once a year or every 40 rounds. This is due to factors such as heat, oil and dirt that break down the materials that make up the grip. Frequent play, personal preference and practice may require a change of grip sooner. Once a grip becomes hard and slick there is a high chance of the golf club twisting during impact, causing a significant LOSS of direction and distance.
