Greeting from Dave.
As you can see in the picture to the right there are three full tour bags of a mixture of new clubs, ex-demos and trade-ins. So please come down to the Performance Centre and make us an offer.
The brands range from PING, TaylorMade, Nike, Wilson and Titleist. These clubs can be tried in the performance centre to see if you like it. There are some great bargains to be had so don't miss out.
We have recently taken on a new brand in the Performance Centre and they're called VEGA. For those of you that don't know the brand it's a Japanese company and is basically the Rolls Royce of golf! They have a prestigious fitting centre in Hereford that any Chase Golf Club member can use to have a first class fitting experience.
For the next two weeks we have eight new PING putters and six of the new Glide wedges available in the Performance Centre for people to demo. There is a left handed putter and wedge for those of you who are left handed that don't normally get a look in. Feel free to come and try these great products.
Seve Trophy
The Seve Trophy took place last Saturday with a strong field of 102 players. This is the fourth time running this competition in memory of the great Severiano Ballesteros. The
£5 entry money per player all goes to the Seve Foundation Charity and also the money we took doing the nearest the pin on the simulator will be sent too. The total amount raised was
£530. So thank you to everyone that played in those very tough conditions.
Eddie Saunders won with a nett 72 which was a great score in those strong winds.
Charlie Dodd came second with a nett 73 and
Martin Hunt third also with a nett 73 but got beat on countback. The standard scratch did go up to 74 which just proves how tough it was. There were only five two's out of the 102 players.

Interclub Matches
On Thursday, 7 May, The Chase entertained our nearest rivals from Stafford Castle and they started off as if their previous inconsistent form was behind them. Unfortunately the weather decided to intervene. It is not known which team had the most 'fair weather' golfers but the decision was made to abandon the game after the appearance of "just a few hail stones!" The Castle captain magnanimously conceded the result to The Chase who were leading 6-1 at the time of abandonment.
Next on the list on Monday, 11 May was another home tie against what is always a strong team from Lichfield. Few details have yet to emerge on the individual heroic performances but the team came away with a very commendable draw of 3.5 to 3.5.
I have been asked to point out that once again a 'coffin dodger' managed a top two placement in the weekend Seve Trophy.
Forthcoming Competitions:
Wednesday 13th May - Vets away to Wychwood Park
Thursday 14th May - Seniors away to Patsull Park
Monday 18th May - LE number six
Thursday 21st May - Seniors at home to Barlaston
