The Masters has crept up on us again with it just three weeks away. This is the first of four majors in the year and in my opinion the best of the lot. It comes at a great time of year with start of the season kicking off and the sun and warmth starting to surround us. Rory is hoping to win his 5th major of his career and win the grand slam!
The Masters is the most prestigious golf tournament in the world, in part because it's played on one the most exclusive golf courses in the world: Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
They are still very much in the traditional golfing times and have some crazy rules that still apply. These can be seen below:
1. Augusta National Golf Club had never allowed a woman member in its 78-year history up until earlier this year.
2. You don't ask to be a member of Augusta National. You must be nominated by a current member and new initiations generally aren't accepted unless someone quits (which never happens) or dies. The total membership stays pretty constant at around 300.
3. Any caddies must wear a white jumpsuit.
4. No running is aloud anywhere.
5. No phones, cameras or electronic devices are even aloud through the gate.
6. Members must physically accompany their guests at all times and are responsible for their conduct while on the grounds. If the member has to leave the course, even in the middle of a round, then the friend has to go too.
7. No autographs.
8. No fishing aloud in any of the water hazards.
9. No tips allowed.
10. No Backwards hats.
New in - NIKE
We have just had delivery in the Performance Centre of all the new Nike products for 2015. This includes the full club range that world number 1 Rory McIlroy is using, and the new clothing range complete with belts and headwear. Nike's colour for this year is Volt green which is being used throughout their whole range. Demo clubs are available to try and the new clothing range can be tried on in our clothes fitting room. Ladies Get Into Golf
A New ladies get into golf class will be starting on Tuesday, 31 March, 7pm-8pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for any Ladies to get into the game in a friendly and relaxed environment with our female PGA Professional Katrina Holford. The course is a 4 week package with an hour group class each week. It will cover all aspects of the game with all equipment, golf balls and tuition for just £20 per person (£5.00 per week)

Mr Steve Conroy became the first senior golfer to appear in our hall of shame when he failed to appear and gave no notice of his intention. Action will be taken as per our AGM proposal.
