The Chase Golf Club

Last week Tom Beasley competed in the English Amateur Chapionship at Woodhall Spa, Tom had rounds of 73 & 70. The highlight on the second day was Tom's start to the round, his frist 10 holes consisted of 4 birdies and 2 eagles making his -8 after 10 holes. An absolute stella run of golf!

Tom finished 16 out of over 200 competitors, a famtastic achivment. Tom qualified for the next stage of the tourament which is a match play format. Unfortuatly Tom didn't get through round 1, never the less an excellent performance!

Tom then backed his great golf up with a Gross 67 in The Penkridge Masters at The Chase, winning the best gross on the day & achiving a +3 hanicap!

Well done Tom, all of your hard work is paying off!

Dress Code, Litter on the course & Tee Time Information

Tee Times - are very much in demand at present, we have had a few no shows. These tee times could of been used for members who are looking for a game who were unable to get a tee time. If you are not able to make your tee time, please please call us and let us know as soon as you can. This will be very much appriciated

Litter - with the bins out of use at present there has been an increase in litter on the course (under trees / by bins that are out of use). Can you please take your litter home to dispose of. Thank you

Dress Code - with the weather picking up we still need to maintain our dress code standard. The main issue has been with shorts. When wearing shorts please ensure they are tailored and NOT combat style (pockets on the side). This will avoid any embarrasment when arriving at the club.

World Handicap System

The World Handicap System is launching on Monday 2nd November 2020. It is designed to welcome more players, to make golf easier to understand and to give all golfers a handicap which is portable all around the globe.

It will replace the six different systems currently used by over 15 million golfers in more than 80 countries.

It has been developed by The R&A and The United States Golf Association (USGA), supported by the world’s handicapping authorities, including CONGU, which represents the four home countries of Great Britain and Ireland.

Another World Number 1

Jon Rahm’s stint at the top of the rankings lasted just a single week. All eyes were on Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson to challenge the Spaniard for that top-of-the-world spot. But it was Justin Thomas, slipping under the radar, who reclaimed it with a win at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

If Thomas had gone under the radar beforehand, he certainly didn’t on Sunday. A combination of pink trousers and outstanding golf saw the 27-year-old steal the show, coming from four shots behind overnight leader Brendon Todd, he overtook the likes of Koepka and Rickie Fowler with a 5-under 65 at TPC Southwind.
