Online Bookings
Some of you may have already noticed a small change in the online tee times booking process. After taking in to consideration feedback from you over the last few weeks, it has become apparent that the online booking system was not allocating you the next available slot if the tee time you had chosen was already being booked by another member who was just ahead of you in the process. We have decided to trial the previous booking system which allows you to choose a 30 min time period so that it can then allocate you the earliest slot available in that period. We will monitor the change over the coming weeks so please click here to leave your feedback, we appreciate any comments you may have about the system.
PING Demo Day - Friday 21st March
This is one of our most popular demo/fitting events of the year. We have 8 slots available for appointments between 3pm and 7pm. Come along and spend time with a PING expert to find out what their equipment can do for your game. If you would prefer to just come along and try out some of the latest PING products, then my team and I will be on hand to point you in the right direction. We can help you with what to try and any swing issues you might want to talk about. This event is FREE of charge and appointments are on a first come first served basis. Please click here to book your appointment.
Golf Bag Trade In is BACK
Is your golf bag looking tired after the winter months? If so then our popular golf bag trade in is for you. It's quite simple. Come down to the Performance Centre and pick out your new bag and we'll knock £20 off the price when you trade in your old bag. We have lots to choose from including; Motocaddy, PING, Titleist, Nike and TaylorMade.
This promotion starts from this Saturday, 15th March, and will run through until the end of April. The offer is only on bags we hold in stock so the quicker you trade in the better selection of bags you will have to choose from.

Here's a note from our course manager, Simon;
As we start to come out of the winter period and head into spring it is refreshing to be experiencing some warming sunshine and above average temperatures. For the last few months we have seen nothing but rain, rain and more rain and subsequently a lot of the planned work is only now being completed.
That said, we have seen the strengths of the golf course, notably the drainage, come to the fore and play continue when other clubs have had to close.
I can honestly say that the greens are healthier for this time of year than I have ever seen them in my 7 years here at The Chase so I urge all golfers to ensure that they do not step onto the golf course without first putting a pitch mark repairer in their pocket and then using it at all times! The following picture is not acceptable and will only see a downturn in the quality of the greens.
Protection of the golf course in the form of traffic control and the use of winter greens when necessary has had a huge impact on preserving the quality of the playing surfaces and puts us in a very strong position going forward. All playing surfaces are about to receive their spring 'wake-up' application of fertiliser that will encourage growth and thickening of the turf sward. Iron will be included in the fertiliser to help discourage the moss that has come in due to the wet conditions. Greens and tees will be top-dressed with a sand/soil material to improve the trueness of the surface and to aide drainage.
I will be preparing a detailed summary of our winter projects for next week's newsletter but keep a look out for not only the obvious 13th and 14th greens but also a few trees that may have appeared in strategic locations! Here are just a few photos of work being carried out.
I am fully aware that the lack of a shoe cleaner has not been ideal of late but it is in the process of being repaired as we speak. As the compressor is shared by ourselves down at the greens shed it is obviously an inconvenience to us as well so it is not something that has been forgotten about. A pressure cut off switched failed which meant it kept running continually and this has worn/damaged a number of parts. A timer switch is also being installed so that it switches off overnight and helps reduce wear and tear.
I hope you are all enjoying your golf and are as excited as we are by the changes to the golf course and the challenges they will provide?!
