Tequila Tequila!!
I think it’s the only way I’m going to keep warm after arriving back from Mexico on Tuesday. The 30 degree temperature difference was a little bit of shock when we landed in Birmingham.
I won’t go on too much about my trip to Mexico as I know it’s been freezing cold whilst I’ve been away, but I will say the golf was excellent and much better than I expected. We played 4 rounds at a course called Riviera Maya Golf Club and it was as good as it was difficult, and my word it was difficult!
We were also due to play Mayakoba Golf Club where the PGA Tour had just visited, but after establishing a courtesy round for myself they wanted $490 for Fiona’s green fee, we naturally gave it a miss.
One thing that I noticed whilst I was at the golf course was that there were a lot of different tee boxes and it was quite common to see men playing from the Ladies tee box’s. When I enquired as to why this was happening I was told that the ladies Tee was not actually a ‘ladies tee’ but just a forward tee, players from Canada and in fact most of Europe were choosing their tee depending on the slope rating of the course to help them enjoy their round, and of course make it faster. With slow play such as issue in the UK perhaps this system is something England Golf might be adopting in the near future?
Night Golf
Unfortunately the night golf scheduled for yesterday had to be cancelled due to the terrible forecast we had. Katrina has rearranged the date for January 8th. The original tee sheet is still up on the board. Could I ask that all those who are still available to play to please tick off your name from the sheet.
