The Chase Pro Am - Friday 7th June 2019

The Pro Am has now been running for 11 years and is always a fantastic day for all that take part. Entries are now being taken, please help yourself to an entry form from the competition board or the Professional Shop. The Pro AM includes:

- 18 holes with a PGA Professional
- Premium branded team prizes worth over £2500
- Premium branded hole prizes
- Bacon Roll & Coffee
- Two course meal following play

Teams may enter with their own professional or be drawn with an invited PGA Professional

Entry Fees: £165 per members team of 3 / £240 per team of 3 non members

Tom Beasley Fundraisers – 26th May & 27th May 2019

I would like to thank all the members from the chase golf club for all their donations over both days. In total with the senior’s day last week, everyone has managed to raise a grand total of £1081.63. The money raised will really help Tom during the 2019 season, this will include entry fees, travel expenses etc.
This week Tom will be competing in the Brabazon Trophy, this is the English Men’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship. Please click here to follow his progress.

Coaching news

Junior Golf Coaching

New classes starting soon!!! We have selected spaces available in our junior golf coaching sessions as well as spaces in our new classes starting Saturdays 12-1pm.

Our junior golf sessions are a great way for your child to get into golf learning in a fun environment. All our sessions are run by our PGA Professionals and are packed full of fun. All equipment is provided.

Class Timetable

Saturday 10-11am, 12-1pm (new class) 1-2pm

Sunday 10-11am, 11-12pm

Tuesday 4.30pm-5.30pm

Ladies news

Recent results…

April and May have been a busy few months for the ladies section. The weather has been good to us and all competitions went ahead as planned.

The Chase held the Katherine House Charity Day on the 25th April with 132 players taking part, the weather was not too good on the day, but it was played in great spirit by all players. Several of the visiting ladies were very impressed with how the course had matured over the years, this was very good to hear. Trentham won on the day with 81 points

May 19th and the 20th - The Ladies away weekend at Telford Golf Club with 21 ladies attending it was great weekend enjoyed by all we thanks to the Lay Captain Barbara Prichard for organising the weekend.

Leading Edge

Our next Leading Edge No 6 is on Monday June 10th a medal competition. The draw is on the senior’s noticeboard.

Thursday 23rd May 2019 – John’s winning run continued with a 6.5 to 0.5 win against Greenway Hall GC at Home. John takes his team to Greenway Hall GC on Thursday 30th May 2019 and we look for the 1st away win of the year.

Senior Captains Charity Day

The draw for the Senior Captains charity day Monday 3rd June is on the noticeboard. Please donate raffle prizes as we are looking to reach £1000 on the day to benefit from Barclays match funding.
A reminder that the Senior Captain Charity day is a shot gun starts at 9am. Please arrive between 8 to 8.15am to allow time for registration.

Senior Open

This year’s senior open is on Monday 2nd September and is open to all golfers over 55 with an active handicap. This is a pairs competition, please enter via The Golf Empire or entry forms on the senior noticeboard. Please see Graham McLeod for more details.

Senior Captains Away Day

This is on Monday August 12th and will be at Market Drayton Golf Club. The balance of £27 is now due. Please pay at the Leading Edge desk in an envelope or pay Phil Wilson direct again in an envelope.

Mixes Pairs Charity Competitions

The latest Mixed Pairs Charity Competition, the sight savers cup was won by Phil Pritchard and Pat Redpath. The next competition the mixed golden jubilee cup is on June 4th.

1 gap, 2 options

The term 'gapping' is commonly used to refer to the yardage distance between each of the wedges in your bag. We want to break this thought process and get you to think about gapping for your entire set, because any unequal gaps between clubs will have a detrimental impact on your game.

Gapping at the top end
