Captain's Drive In and Gala Dinner
I know lot's of you are playing in the competition on Saturday 15th but all are welcome to come along to support your new Captains and watch them drive in. Registration for the competition will be from 8am with the drive in at 8.45am. The shotgun start will then take place at 9.15am.
There is still time to get your tickets for the Gala dinner which takes place the evening of the 15th. The Gala dinner is always one of the best social functions of the year and it would be great to see a packed out Atrium yet again supporting your Captains. Tickets are available from behind the bar and are priced at £19.95 to include a 3 course meal and entertainment from a Blues Brother's band.
Billy Foster
Tickets are selling fast for the Billy Foster evening on Friday April 25th. Billy is well known for being the caddy of Lee Westwood but he has carried the bag of numerous top players including Seve Ballesteros and world No 1 Tiger Woods. He has some fantastic stories to tell us and will also be taking questions from the floor. Billy will be supported by top comedian Russ Williams who among many other events hosted the Ryder Cup winners dinner in 2011. It looks set to be yet another fantastic event, if you would like to enquire about tickets then please get in touch by clicking here and I will be in touch.
AGM
The Men's section AGM takes place next Thursday (13th March) where the committee will also be doing the knockout draw and Winter League Presentation. The evening will commence at 7pm.
Air Compressor
There will be a new air compressor installed shortly for cleaning off your golf shoes after your game. We apologise for the delay in having this issue rectified.
Anita's Funeral
I'm sure there are lots of you that would like to pay your respects at Anita's Funeral next week. The Church service is in Penkridge at St Michael's church at 1.30pm this coming Monday.
Double Bubble for Nike
The Nike Athletes on Tour are really rising to the top of late with Ross Fisher and Russell Henley winning on opposite sides of the Atlantic. The Honda Classic was great TV viewing as it appeared Rory was back to his sublime best only to falter coming home on Sunday. Rory may have lost but he did hit possibly the best golf shot I have ever seen. A 245 yard high fading 5 wood on the 72nd hole to about 10ft. He missed the putt though and went on to lose to fellow Nike Athlete Henley. Click on the below media links for more info. There's some fantastic articles on Nike's double win, outlined in Today's Golfer, National Club Golfer, in the Daily Mail and on SkySports. Click on the links to find out more.
