Winter League – Saturday 8th December

1st – Geoff Elton = 39 points

2nd – Kevin Bell = 37 points

The Saturday league is now starting to take shape with 5 rounds in total been played. It’s currently tight at the top, with just 1 point in it. Top spot is currently been held by Alan Ball with a total score of 169 just the one point ahead of Martin Hunt. There are still 7 rounds scheduled to be played, weather dependant.

Christmas competition

Lots of our lady members dressed up for their nine hole Christmas competition on Wednesday. They all looked fantastic and had great fun out on the golf course.

Senior Presentation Day Texas Scramble

Monday 10th December saw the Senior Section Presentation Lunch. This was preceded with a 9 hole Texas Scramble. Winners of this were Larry Dreaves, Graham McLeod, Barry Woodward and Greg Watson. After this over 70 seniors sat down to Xmas lunch and the presentation of the Senior Section Competition Trophies for the year.

The first trophy was the 2017/18 winter pair’s competition where John Johnston and Ian Lawley reached the final to play Mike Pearson and Pete Caswell. With the poor weather last winter the final was impossible to play and the finalists donated the prize money to the senior captain’s charity.

Onto the main event for the senior section, the Leading Edge, played over 12 rounds over the summer. The competition has two division, both division 1 and division 2 had 12 individual winners in each division. Congratulations to all 24 divisional winners.

As part of the Leading edge we have the Hodson of Penkridge Trophy for the over 70 year old who has not won any of the 12 competition, this year’s winner was Bob Garside. Also the Eclectic Trophy which was won by Tom Jones.
