Match report The Seniors played their first home match against Stafford Castle GC, the previous two matches were both away from home and resulted in two defeats. We hope a home match would change our fortunes, sadly we were defeated again 4.5 to 2.5. At least each defeat is by a small margin, we hope for a better result in our next match against Barlaston GC.
Senior Captains Charity Day
The Senior Captains Charity day is on June 4th and is a senior pairs competition open to Seniors, Ladies and Guests. A list of tee times to enter is on the noticeboard for you to enter. This is our main charity fund raiser so please enter, donations for raffle prizes are required. If you wish to play and don’t have a partner, contact a committee member and we will try to pair you with someone.
Senior Open The Senior open is on 3rd September, entry forms are now on the noticeboard. Again, a pairs competition open to all over 55 with a current handicap.
Captains Away Day Monday 13th August The organisation of the Senior Captains away trip at Wishaw GC is well in hand with all places taken. The senior committee visited the course on Tuesday to finalise the arrangements for the day. We all felt it was an interesting course with a lot of holes that will take some thought to play. The highlight of our visit was our Captain Dave Cartlidge getting a hole-in-one on the 15th. Is he the first Senior Captain to get a hole-in-one during his year in office?
Speedy recovery Finally this week, we wish Rob Allison and Frank Wood a speedy recovery from their recent operations. Also we wish Keith Bayliss this year’s Vice Captain a speedy recovery as he is due to undergo an operation this week.
