We have just taken delivery of the new 2018 FootJoy shoe range in the Performance Centre. We have a wide selection of the Pro SL, Dryjoy Tour and FJ Original. They do lots of other great styles which we can order in when you want, with just a couple of days turn around.

Club repair

As the season is now approaching, it’s time for us to start inspecting our clubs ensuring they are ready. The only point of contact we have with our golf clubs is the GRIP, so it’s vital that they are in good condition! We would recommend that you bring your clubs into The Golf Performance Centre and one of the professional team will be more than happy to inspect them for you.

The Senior Winter Competitions continued this week with a 3 ball accumulator. A close competition result with the winners with 53 points being decided on countback.

AGM

Another year quickly passes and the Senior AGM is upon us. The date this year is 5th March following the Senior Texas Scramble. Nominations for the committee are posted on the noticeboard and we have 2 vacancies. If you are interest please put your name on the notice, if you would like to find out more about serving on the committee speak to any committee member.

Comfort is a must

Much has been made of the benefits of golf on our physical and mental health in recent years, with a study by Edinburgh University even claiming playing regularly can increase your life expectancy. Part of their research found that golfers typically burn around 500 calories during 18 holes, which isn’t surprising given the distance we travel.
