Simmons Trophy

The Simmons Trophy took place on Sunday for the 8th year running on what was a mixed day of English weather. The format was a pairs betterball medal with 90% handicap allowance playing from the white tees. The day was very well-supported as normal with the first tee starting at 7.30am and the last tee off not starting until 13.20pm.

Simmons Trophy The scoring was that impressive on the day that a nett 72 level par round was towards the middle of the pack. The eventual winner winning on a better back nine with an amazing score of nett 63 was Peter Till and Nicholas Haste. Please see below for full results:

Calling All Parents & Juniors - Golf For FREE

Saturday 22nd July from 2.30-3.30pm, The Chase Golf Club will once again be supporting the HSBC Golf Hour and we are offering a FREE coaching session for children and parents.

The session is FREE of charge and open to children and adults of all ages. The session is going to be packed with lots of fun and games with free goodies and prizes to be won. Booking is essential as there will only be a limited number of places available for this popular event.

Memorial Trophy

Monday 26th June saw 68 players take part in Leading Edge 7 (Memorial Trophy). The Memorial Trophy was won by Brian Haynes with his score of 46 points. Congratulations to Brian. There were 10 disqualifications due to players failing to sign their cards. Players must ensure that their card is signed by both player and marker on completion of your round.

Division 1: 1st - Bob Garside 42 points; 2nd - Greg Watson 41 points; 3rd - Ian Lawley 40 points.
Division 2: 1st - Brian Haynes 46 points; 2nd - Robert Bathgate 42 points; 3rd - Keith Harrison 38 points.
Tony Archibold won the 28 handicapper prize.

Senior Matches

The Seniors travelled the short distance to Stafford Castle GC in good spirits after beating them at home 6 - 1 a couple of weeks ago. But Stafford Castle took revenge winning 6 - 1, so overall we had an honourable draw after the two matches. Next up was a home match against Branston GC which ended in a 3.5 - 3.5 draw with the match squared by the Chase on the last hole. A few days later the team travelled to Lichfield GC and the team put up a good effort by lost 4 - 3. We look to get back to winning ways in the return fixture at the Chase against Lichfield on June 29th.

Senior Captain's Away Trip

If you have put your name down for the Senior Captain's away trip the payment of £39 is now due. Please pay Phil Wilson or other committee members ASAP.
