Simon Higgins Wins Staffordshire Matchplay Championship!
Huge congratulations to Simon Higgins who has won the Staffordshire Matchplay Championship, played at Trentham Golf Club earlier this week. Simon won after coming through 4 matches and won the final 7&5, after being a sensational 8 under through 13 holes!

Dofsky Cup & Scratch Knockout Trophy
Well done to the players involved in both the Dofsky Cup and the Scratch Knockout Trophy. Both teams enjoyed home wins this week and progress to the next round.
The A Team is at home this week to last year's Premier winners, Wychwood Park. With another crucial match coming up next week away to 2nd place Crewe, it's vital we keep the momentum going. Good luck lads!

Seniors Captain's Invitation Day
Monday 5th June was the Senior Captain's Invitation Day with very poor weather conditions. The seniors, guests and ladies did the Senior Captain proud with a large turnout. Whilst we are still counting the monies, be reassured that despite the poor weather on the day we have more than achieved our objectives.
The overall winners on the day were Bob Edwards and Barrie Morgan with 43 points. Other winners were Maurice and Jean Coppins who scored 36 points for the best lady or ladies score while Roy Brown and R Homer won the best guest score with 39 points.
Five players ended up sharing the two's pot. They were Barry Woodward, Alan Westwood, Mike Pearson, Mike Whitehouse, and Colin Rich. A list of the individual hole winners will be on the noticeboard.
Many thanks to the Sponsors of the holes, individual raffle prize donors and all the volunteers - especially the ladies - who made the day run smoothly. It was nice to see 3 ladies from North Staffs Asperger and Autism Association who sold tea/coffee and homemade cakes in the halfway hut.

Senior Team
The Senior Team played Greenway Hall GC at home last week and ran out winners with a 4-2 victory. It was an enjoyable day with a good company and the usual good meal afterwards.
