Hello golfers, 

 

The Chase Midland PGA Pro Am - Friday 11th August 2017

Entries are now being taken for our popular Pro Am on the 11th August this year. You couldn't ask for a better day of golfing on a Friday when you're supposed to be at work. The day starts off with a bacon roll and coffee on arrival, then a warm up at our driving range (if you're feeling up to it) 18 holes of golf playing with two of your pals and a PGA Professional then a 2 course meal to follow your round of golf. 

The format for the golf is 2 medal scores to count out of 4 on each hole. The pro also keeps his individual score for the professional prize. There are lots of prizes to be won for the amateur team competition with prizes going down to 7th place. 

The cost per team of three amateurs is £240 for visitors and £165 for golf club members. Entry forms are now in the Performance Centre for anyone wanting to enter a team. If you already have your own professional then please note this on the entry form. 

If not then we can find you a professional to play in your team. The day is restricted to around 40 teams so enter quickly to avoid disappointment. Click here for more information.


 

Millennium Shield 

This year's second major took place on Sunday with around 100 members taking part. First tee was 7.30am with the last group getting away at 13.00pm. The weather was very kind to us with decent temperatures and some sunshine throughout the day. This year's winner with a score of 69 was Barry Longdon. Well done Barry on winning your first major championship. See below for full results: 

1st Barry Longdon 69, 2nd David Cartridge 69, 3rd Matt Swift 70, 4th Paul Round 71 and 5th Alan Birks 72.  
Best Gross - Matt Tranter 78, 25-28 Handicaps - Andy Baker 68 and Two's - 9

We have just taken delivery of 12 dozen limited edition Titleist Pro V1x golf balls. Each ball in the dozen back is numbered with a 69 rather than the traditional 1-4. The number 69 is to mark that it's the 69th consecutive year at the US Open that the Titleist Pro V1 ball has been the played ball by the pro's out of any brand.
