Congratulations are in order for our very own Tom Cheetham who has continued his good form by qualifying with his partner (Luke Howe) to the finals of the Golf Breaks PGA Fourball championships to be held at St Mellion in August. If you are wondering why Tom was not playing with any one from my team it was because myself and Dave were also playing as a team. Tom & Luke actually topped the field with a 67 at Swindon GC on Thursday but unfortunately me & Dave only managed a 72 which was not good enough to make the finals. In our defence it was only Dave’s 2nd game in nearly a month due to catching glandular fever and being off work for 3 weeks so not too bad an effort. Good luck Tom in the Finals.

On Thursday 12th June it was a lovely sunny day at Whiston Hall and on a very attractive hilly course, the Vets Team powered through to a 4-2 win securing 8 points to 4 and continuing their unbeaten run in the North Staffs league

Unfortunately the roll-over on Monday the 9th was abandoned when the claxon sounded at approx 10.30 due to horrendous weather conditions. The intrepid 8 who had paid their monies can obtain a full refund from Fred Ainsworth.

Congratulations to Fred Ainsworth and Peter McDonald who both qualified to play in the final of the Staffordshire Champion Cub Golf 2014, both scoring 35 points at Druids Heath, the qualifying venue.

Finally we wish a speedy recovery to Trevor Taylor who has just undergone a hip replacement operation. He will, I’m sure, soon be back blazing a speedy trail around the course in the early weekend hours

Putting Clinic - Special Offer

Tom will be running a short 1 hour putting clinic on Friday 27th June 10am-11am.

During the clinic Tom will show you some great putting drills and techniques to help you improve your putting. During the session we will be focusing on distance control and accuracy.
