TaylorMade Fitting Day
Last Tuesday we had a great day with lots of interest in the new products from TaylorMade, which added distance to all participants. The most distance gain came from Dean Coleman with 20 yards moving from 8.5 to 10.5 degrees in loft. This just shows that with the new way of thinking from TaylorMade if you don’t loft up you will get left behind!! Even Dan found that lofting up to 14 degrees(!) gave him the best launch conditions, spin rates and ultimately more distance
Congratulations to the men's team on reaching the last 64 in the national Daily Mail knockout finals, they beat Bakewell GC convincingly in the last round.
On Monday 2nd June an excellent turn out for the Senior Captains Invitation Day ensured that a total of £1004 was raised towards the club’s joint Charity of the year - St Giles Hospice - Walsall.
Overall results were:
- Stan Harris 39 points
- Gary Cooper 39 points
- Terry Cavanah 38 points
- Nick Hancox 38 points
- K. Stevens (Guest) 38 points
The winners of the many spot prizes have been posted on the notice board and there are still several raffle prizes to be claimed, numbers also on the notice board
Unfortunately the interclub match away to Hilltop GC on Wednesday the 4th June was weather interrupted and had to be abandoned after 9 holes
On Friday 6th June the North Staffs Vets team were away at Blyth Bridge GC in the Emery/Hughes/Price Memorial Trophy. Unfortunately, despite the good start to the Vets season, this first away match proved a daunting obstacle with the result being a 3 : 0 defeat for the team. The advantage of home knowledge was perfectly demonstrated when perhaps our strongest pair suffered a 7 and 6 defeat.

- Seniors roll up on Monday 9th
- Vets away at Whiston Hall on Thursday 12th June
And the following week:
- Monday 16th LE No 5
- Tuesday 17th Ladies Jubilee Cup (Ladies and Seniors)
