Wasn't it great to see another Englishman win on the European tour last week and make it two English wins in successive weeks. Tommy Fleetwood took the title at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club on a score of 17 under par to beat long hitting American Dustin Johnson by one shot. This was Fleetwood's second win on tour since turning pro in 2010. This win has taken Tommy to 53rd in the world and should hopefully see him make his first Masters appearance in April at the stunning Augusta National. There has been a stand-out trend when looking at his previous four finishes before last week as he finished 22nd in Turkey, 14th in South Africa, 9th in Dubai, 3rd in Hong Kong then 1st in Abu Dhabi. Certainly something to look out for on the European Tour website if you like to have a little flutter on the golf each week.
Exciting times this week over in the US as Tiger tees it up in The Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego California. He tees off at 10.40am (18.40pm our time) with Dustin Johnson and Jason Day. They will be playing Torrey Pines South course for round 1 then the North course for round 2. Tiger has some great memories of Torrey Pines with him winning his last major championship there in 2008.
My picks for this week:
Qatar Masters
Martin Kaymer 12/1
Jordan Smith 60/1 (Outsider bet)
Farmers Insurance Open
Dustin Johnson 17/2
Phil Mickelson 40/1 (Outsider bet)

Can Worn Grips Cause Bad SHOTS?
Yes
A Brand New Grip won't be able to improve a swing fault or poor body alignment, but they do improve the only connection point you have with your clubs. A National Survey of golfers showed that 66% of those who had their clubs re-gripped showed an average drop of 3 to 4 shots per round.
This leads us to the question - When should I re-grip my clubs?
The answer is simple, once a year or every 40 Rounds. This is due to factors such as heat, oil and dirt that break down the materials that make up the grip. Frequent play, personal preference and practice may require a change of grip sooner. Once a grip becomes hard and slick there is a high chance of the golf club twisting during impact, causing a significant LOSS of direction and distance.
