Greetings from Matt
Junior Keith Lewis memorial
Congratulations to Alfie White on winning the Keith Lewis memorial on Tuesday. He shot a fantastic nett 60 off the white tees dropping his handicap from 28 to 22. The next junior major is to be played on Saturday 31st teeing off at 12.40 if any of the juniors would like to play in it.
Blue tees
You would have noticed that there are blue tees out on the course now, these tees are for juniors who are 11 and under to encourage a younger junior section. This has been a great aspect to the junior section with 11 under 11's now joining the course with 3 girls in this section.
Only 1 senior interclub event during the week with The Chase entertaining Barlaston GC at home on Thursday. Despite Barlaston fielding a strong team according to their handicaps, and despite our loss of a player with a back injury after 2 holes the Chase were successful with a score of 5 : 3
There are no interclub matches next week
There were no North Staffs Vets match’s during the week with the next competitions being away to Blythe Bridge on Friday 6th June and away at Whiston Hall on Thursday 12th June. (Sheets on the board)

Keith Lewis
The Keith Lewis is an annual charity Betterball competition with funds raised going to the Captain's charity. We had 4 pairs competing even the weather tried it’s best to have the competition called off.
With only 6 groups left to play through 12 the greens on 12 and 14 started to puddle up so after a call from the course, Dan and me were out brushing away the water so that the competition could be played out. The scoring was excellent and in the end here was a tie on 43pts which ended up being decided on the back three holes. Tom Beasley and Dave Foley came out on top helped by young Tom making an eagle 2 on 17!! Well done lads. Runners up were Carl Brogan & Callum Jenvy. The competition rose over £220 for the charity.
The bank holiday saw a stableford competition, the weather was a lot better than the weekend encouraging more people to play. Congratulations to Richard Parry on winning the comp with 41pts.
