The weekend not only saw the Open but also one of our majors with the Chase Chalice being played on Saturday. We had just over 100 players fighting over the trophy. It was very close until the last group came in with Ryan Hughes shooting a very impressive 65 nett. The nerves got to him on the last few holes but won by an impressive 3 shots.

The Captain's away weekend was hailed a great success by its 58 members who made the trek to Belton Woods in Lincolnshire. Belton Woods has two courses, The Woodlands, which was played on the Sunday and The Lakes which was Monday. 

The Woodlands as its name suggests, had a variety of different trees all of which was easy to hide a variety of different golf balls. With fast undulating greens the task was already set to be a difficult one but with the added windy conditions the task grew even greater. Some found these to their liking and Larry Horan and Rob Day with respective scores of 38 & 37 headed the pack on day 1. 

Day 2 with tee times in reverse order from day 1's results was played out on The Lakes course. With its beautiful manicured greens and discretely positioned 'water traps' this once again proved to be another difficult task with yet again blustery, swirling, windy conditions. However, with cuts to their day 1 scores this proved too much for the final quartet with Shaun Mason, Dave Whitehouse and Tony Anderton all putting in a strong finish with scores of 38,37 & 36 respectfully to snatch the honours at the death.

Ladies Coaching Morning - 

Every Tuesday 9am-9.45am. Our ladies only coaching sessions are a great way to pick up some useful tips from our lady PGA coach Katrina. With all aspects of the game covered each week these sessions are great for brushing up on you technique and are a great opportunity to socialise with other lady golfers.
