Scratch Team
Saturday 15th may saw the first appearance of the golf club playing in the West Midlands Scratch league. As you can tell from the title this is a very competitive league and The Chase have entered this league for the first time this year.
Our first match was away at Shirley Golf Club. Anyone who has not played the course before it is a very well presented course with numerous trees and a few ponds thrown in for good measure. The team played very well away from home and ended up just losing out to a very good team. The final result being Shirley 4 1/2 and the Chase 3 1/2.
Anyone wishing to be considered for the scratch team please contact Richard Knott on 07801 882544. The league is open for both men and women to play.
The £9.99 golf lesson offer is back! Less than half price! Book a 30 minute golf assessment lesson for only £9.99. Offer is available to all NEW customers for your first session only. Don't miss out offer ends 31/5/2016
This week the Seniors and the Vets team were in match action.
The vets team travelled to Leek Westwood Golf Club on Wednesday 11th May, a club which only a couple had played before. A very warm welcome awaited us, the front nine is a up and down test, followed by a long flat return. The testing course proved to be out of our reach, resulting in a resounding defeat, without us recording a single win. This is the second very poor result in three matches, such a contrast to the previous two years results. We will go forward knowing that we can produce solid performances. Our next match is away to Alsager on the Thursday 26th May.
Steve Fountain Vets Captain
The Seniors travelled to Patshull Park Golf Club on Thursday 12th May. The result was a 5 matches to 3 matches defeat. Whilst not being able to record victory I am reliable informed that the Senior Captain managed to win his first match of the year. The next match is home to Barleston Golf Club on Thursday 19th May, were we can attempt to keep our home record intact.
The Seniors Home match on the 23rd May has now been rearranged for the 13th June.
The Seniors Open takes place on 5th September. Entry sheets will be available from the Leading Registration, or contact Tony Archibold.
The Senior Captains invitation day is on the 6th June 2016 please see the noticeboard. Prizes for the raffle and sponsors for holes are required.
A reminder to all those who have put their names down for the Senior Captains away day on the 28th July 2016 at Patshull Park GC, your £10 deposit should be paid ASAP. There is one remaining space for the day.
