The golf course is looking great with the smell of freshly cut grass as you walk around the club. Hopefully the cold spell has gone now until the winter and we can play our rounds of golf in a polo shirt. Thursday Night league

TNL starts again on Thursday 21st April. Any member with a handicap is able to play and enter the league but if you do not have a handicap you can still come along and join in the fun and meet new people. Tee times start from 3.30pm and the last time is 6.00pm. The format is a 9 hole stableford with your 10 best scores over the summer being used in the league table. All CONGU handicaps qualify for league and prizes. Your TNL handicap will be half of your actual handicap on the first TNL you enter. Handicap reductions will be applied each week with 1st place having a 20% reduction of their handicap, 2nd place 15% and 3rd place 10%. Also anything over 18 points will be reduced by 0.25 per point. Prizes will be paid out for the top 3 each week and there will be prizes for the overall league to be paid out on the last TNL of the year.

Bonus Points/Prizes

- Not only will you receive a free pint or meal for nearest the pins you will also receive 2 bonus points for your league total.
- Beat the pro is back!! Any player beating the designated pro score on the night will get 1 bonus point towards their league total.
- The popular ball draw is also back but with a big brucie bonus! £20 is up for grabs every week for the first card drawn out, if you are not there at the presentation the money will roll over and another £20 will be added to the pot! You must be at the presentation to claim these prizes.

Welcome from the Seniors Section.

With no Leading Edge this week it was matches for the Vets and the Seniors.

After the last two years roaring success in the North Staffs Vets League, the changing Chase Team faced our first match last Thursday 14th April against Barlaston at home, resulting in a resounding defeat, only recording one half. Although very disappointing we shall attempt to restore our prestige next Thursday with a home match against Alsager. On the brighter side the visiting team was full of praise with regard to the course, hospitality and presentation of the facilities.

Monday 18th April saw the Seniors visit Uttoxeter for their 2nd match of the season. This was also a defeat 6 to 2. A disappointment we could not follow the win achieved in the first match.

The Seniors winter league pairs competition has now completed and congratulations to the winning pair A Richardson and J Johnstone who beat G Bunch and T Cavanagh in the final. The divisional winners were R Davis, K Bayliss and M Davis, P Griffiths.

The sheet for the Senior Captains Away Day on the 28th July 2016 is now on the board. Total cost is £36 which is for a bacon roll on arrival and a 2 course meal after the golf. A £10 deposit in an envelope with your name on to be handed to the Leading Edge Desk (not in the Senior Captains box).

The Seniors Open takes place on 5th September. Entry sheets will be available from the Leading Registration, or contact Tony Archibold.

Junior Golf Coaching

We have a number of spaces available on our Junior Coaching Academy Programme.

Classes run every Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday with new classes starting very soon. Our junior classes are a great way to get you children into golf offering great coaching in a fun environment. Classes are available for all children from the age of 3+. We currently run the Junior Golf Passport scheme which is the national, structured learning program for junior golf in the UK.

Titleist Vokey Demo Evening

We will have over 20 Titleist Vokey SM6 wedges with a wide range of lofts, bounce angles and grinds. Giving you the opportunity to find the correct bounce and grind for your swing style and playing conditions.

 Don't worry, if you can't make the evening we now have these trial clubs permanently in the performance centre.
